Ah Okay. Great cars. Jos my younger son has had 3 of those, (all VRS,) running around the country as a QS. They represent great value for money.
What a great weekend, catching up with some old faces. Just back into work and its a struggle.
I think the last time I saw Heath was falling out of the Grune Holle Nightclub 11-12 years ago!
Caught up with Simon and Paul, put the world to rights in the pub until 1.30am. Last time I saw them was falling out of a pub that served vinegar shots in Chippenham Nothing changes except kids get massive and outdrive their Dads.
Finally got a pax lap with Simon in the GTR on the Nordschleife and it was worth the 15year wait is all i can say.
We manage 42laps in over the weekend. Our little E46 is coping nicely, got a nice clear lap one of the days registering an 8.29lap. I reckon there may be ten seconds to come off that if I stitched a Juanjo lap together. :-)
Some snaps, nostalgic moment spotting this VR4 in traffic. Keeping this thread VR4 related of course!
our sh1tbox Dedicated Ring tool..
Finally in the pasenger seat..
This GTR is well known in VR4 circles..as is the CIF action
The debrief..Heath had gone home by this stage, apologies for no selfies man!!!
Still here somewhere........
Good to hear you are back in one piece.
I was for once the old wise one that night as we had to get up at 7am next morning and drive 500 miles.
Just goes to prove somethings never change, we are all older, greyer/balder, fatter but still muppets !
What an awesome read. The power of the internet bringing like-minded people together is great

Looks like a good time was had by all!
Makes me want to go next year.
Why was the mini being pushed? It's likely I'll be piloting one of those next time I am on track.
Cos minis are rubbish !!!
The mini got overly hot queuing to get off circuit and the starter motor was stuck on/open. Simon ended up pushing it up the inclined exit road with his Skyline rather than pay a fortune for the recovery truck.
Apparently the R53 mini is prone to this and they found the was to unlock it is to run it backwards.
Time to start a 2023 Easter Ring Trip thread then?
I lapped a rental R53 Cooper S last year for a few laps, by far the best upgrade is a proper front Diff. The one I lapped had a Quaife front diff and I was advised taking it out that it will grip all the time under power so just send it!
It took me a lap to get over the fact that the rear of the car was moving any which way and that the diff was indeed heroic.
So...fit the diff. When driving forget and ignore everything the car is doing from your ears backwards and just power on! The arse of the car is twitching and bouncing everywhere but the diff means you just drag it on through! Epic car when set up right.
Nice to see some of the veterans enjoying themselves, glad you all had a great time
Good too see some of the "old" team again. Looks like a fun time was had. Not been on track for a few years myself but do feel Castle Combe calling
Nice to know about the mini. It is not mine, but it is an R53 Cooper S. It already has suspension, exhaust, brakes and supercharger pulley upgrade. The owner may or may not have a diff on order.
I'm not sure I'm the best person to start a thread, but I'll be registering interest if anyone does.
