    Speedo Cable

    Hi all,
My speedo has stopped working and I'm looking to find best place to buy some parts to fix it.

Revs are still accurate and lights on the dash all working as well as tiptronic gear selector switch so I'm hoping it's just a cable that's moved and been sheared/cut.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas where to start.

Thinking I'm going to be looking for a speedo cable in some shape as well.

Does any one have a part number or know what other vehicles would have the same part?

Who's the best parts company recently please? Used viamoto previously

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Geraint

It's most likely that the KPH to MPH converter has failed.

My suggestion would be to find it, take it out, return it to just a single straight piece of wire, and @foxdie can reprogram your dash clocks from KPH to MPH.

I have seen it sold a lot on eBay, Amazon. Have you found it yet?

Thanks both, I'll investigate the KPH to MPH convertor. I'll do a search on the forum but where are they normally fitted?? Behind the cluster down behind the stereo/centre dash or engine bay please?

Did have a quick look on Ebay but couldn't find a cable. Email Amber Performance and a JDM parts and a couple of others to see if they might have a cable.

The garage can't get it in till the 21st. Still perfectly drivable and I just use GPS Speed app on my phone to give me an idea.

THERE IS NO CABLE, so that's why you won't find one anywhere! It's purely electronic.

I've seen speed converters in a number of places - most common is on the top of the gearbox, or behind the clocks, but it could also be under the dash, behind the stereo etc. You're looking for a small circuit board or box, with 4-5 wires going into/coming out of it, probably wrapped in half a mile of electrical tape...
