    Your VR-4 Plans for 2024

I'm interested to know what plans people have for 2024 that are VR-4 related?

Personally, I'm hoping to get to a point where I can start the strip down of my Legnum, so that I can repair the rust, and return it to as close to factory fresh as possible, so I can get another 20+ years out of it!

Additionally, I'm hoping to push a few things that have been ticking away in the background into the foreground shortly, but this needs some motivation from a couple of others (you know who you are, I'm not going to publicly shame you, yet!)

My engine is currently in a lot of bits, so my aim this year is to put it back together! My car did less than 1000 miles last year so I want to increase that this year.

I want to change the proportioning valve to have the rear brakes in better balance. Till then it won't get a MOT.
    Among other things:
    - hope I can get the time to lower the rear subframe to attack the rust
    - to place the AYC pump in the back of the car
    - to repair the wind catcher on the drivers door
    - to get rid of vibration of the car above 60mph (maybe less lowering of the coilovers)
    - change a rear door and the rear taildoor because of rust and spray paint them
    - spray paint, spray paint a lot of other things
    - search for some intact mud guards
    - get rid of a cracking noise in the back
    - etc.
Always a lot of things to do on these aging cars ...
But engine and AT are still going strong!

    I need to:
    get oil burning sorted,
    get gearbox rebuilt,
refurbish 3 brake callipers (did 1 last year),
rebuild AYC as its starting to have issues,
    fit cosmetic parts,
    wash the car one time.
maybe wash the car for a second time.

Nothing major (hopefully), the sunroof will be coming out in a few weeks to be restored as there is blistering on the inner surround. Last year I had the dinitrol renewed, The front struts had some minor welding, and near side rear quarter panel repainted.

My VR4 is completely stock, and while I'm not particularly interested in 'mo powa babeh' but I would be interested to get it on a dyno to see what it actually makes.

My Super VR4 is still blowing smoke on boost. I've got some injectors next to put in and do another pressure leak down test.
Might pick up a cheap injector tester as well.
Anyone willing to have a look at my Evo Scan logs for anything that sticks out?

Once the Scottish weather allows! ....... A good service - engine oil+filter, antifreeze, ayc fluid (well overdue), aircon pressure check & some new 4WD decals for the rear windows (very faded). That's about it. Nothing has ever broken & with regular servicing this car has never let me down (now 22? yrs of ownership).

Nice to see such dedication Nige!

I have a run of 4WD stickers that Kryton sorted out for the Club. Still not put them in the shop though! I will get some info sorted out for them if you want. They aren't expensive, but were basically made to look similar to the originals.

Yep, I don't think the originals are even available any more. I think ASA might show the measurements for the rear window placement though, so I will look that up too. I'll be back home Friday to have a look

Thanks Nev, I've had a quick look & the rear decals look very similar to Evo Tommi ones, MR245074 & yep, very pricey for a tiny bit of vinyl.
Mine are well shot & the red paint on my VR4 badges is looking tired too; must sort that in the summer!

They are as this comparison with an original. The background is clear instead of black/dark grey. Probably only be something like ?4 for a pair of them? Will see if I can get them in the shop later this week.

They were available for about 10 quid a go a few years ago, but it was an alternative part number the same on both sides instead of the unique parts each side originally.

I could use one too Nev, the one I didn't replace has almost dissolved since I did the first
