    BOV - Dump Valve

    Hi,

I'm looking at putting a BOV onto my Vr4 2.5 automatic, I've done a search and some people seem to have them on their automatics ? So they must vent to atmosphere ok then ?

Is there any recommendations to what one ? Or how to guides?

    Thank You !

Vent to atmosphere valves aren't recommended, because they let out air that has been measured, and this will affect the fuelling, and can cause stalling issues.

Whilst some people have fitted them, and they may not think there's issues, it's more that they've been lucky, than anything else...

    Hi,
Yeah I was looking into that and it will cause it to overfuel as like you pointed out that air has already been metered and accounted for my plan was to install then pull the plugs to see if it was actually causing a noticeable issue after running it for a set period of time with my driving style and if it did revert back to standard.
Do you know what the size of the ports are ? Are they 34mm like most EVOs etc ?
    Thanks

Thanks ! Does the dump valve go onto the pipe that goes to the turbo ? Then blank off the pipe that goes back into the charge/inlet manifold?

    Cheers

    Other way round.
The pressure builds (and needs relieving) in the pipe to the inlet manifold. The stock valve lets that pressure through to the turbo inlet.
