    VR$ parts car, Anyone interested?

OK, About this car on ebay, £3000 + £1200 = £4200 total, excluding sva and mot test .

SO You can pick this car up from a UK port for £4200, and trailer it away.

Looking at what it’s got on it, Rough list below with second hand sale prices to club members rather than new prices.

    Parts List

    Exhaust 300
    Wheels/tyres 400
    Adj suspension 400
    Front strut brace 30
    Bonnet 50
    Doors 160 (40 each)
    Tailgate /spoiler 60
    Front wings 80 (40 each)
    Rear lower spoiler 20
    Hid headlights 120 (pair)
    Engine 700
    Auto trip trans 800
    Diff 200
    Air intake (HKS?) 40
    Other lights 40
    Interior 100
    Radiator 100
    Intercooler 100
    Elec mirrors/switch100 (as kit)

Steering and other mechanical parts and bits and pieces 400

Total = £4200 (that was a total fluke)

I think the prices are fair, any views on this.

No charge for sva or registration as it’s a parts car, this could either be done with club funds? (I don’t know if there are club funds) or 10 people paying £420. open to debate?

We could even do this on a lower value car with aftermarket parts or an accident damaged car, not through ebay.
Any interest in this?, or the general idea of bringing cars into the UK for the club to break and sell parts from?

I have seen other Japan auction sites where shipping to uk is cheaper.

    Cheers Louis

    Find a cheaper one.

I bought a registered working car for less than that.

I think it is a good idea, but we need to get a cheaper one.

    Did I say cheaper yet?

the idea is very good but people just wont pay. you say wheels @ £400. I have a set for £250 and cant sell them. That is just 1 example.

    Exhaust 300?
    Engine 700 ok
    Auto 800?
    Suspention 400?

the car would need to be cheaper and have more bits on it. Then you have the cost of picking it up, stripping it down. Things would get very complicated if 10 people were involved.

As you say prob be better with accident damage 1s

I made some enquiries about accident damaged cars. Problems are: you have to pay more for inland transport in japan; Most RORO's won't have accident damaged cars in the raw - they have to be containered, which means buying enough cars to fill a container, or trying to share one. Then you have to transport the thing once it gets to the uk - either by the container load, or something big enough to lift and carry one damaged car. Do-able, but $$$ investment. And once again, were a bit of a small bunch of enlightened individuals!

There are definately cheaper cars available, and I've posted the odd one here. They tend to be high milers though, so you couldn;t be sure of the quality of the bits you'd be getting...
