It's mainly scraps and scratches which are effecting the body work. Inside I need to get hold of some trim parts, on the rear tailgate etc. it also looks like a previous owner may have joined this forum, as the insurance disc holder is a clubvr4!
I will take some more pics this weekend.
Cheers keving
Hi all
Well I tackled the task of changing the spark plugs yesterday, with help from the members article
The condition of the plugs seemed pretty good, apart from oil in the spark plug tubes in two of the back plugs. What was was the previous cowboy that changed them last time! All the plugs were very lose, most of the clamps on the turbo pipes were lose, the hard plastic elbow which fits onto the throttle body, was really badly fitted as the inner rubber sleeve was totally crumpled! All of these faults have been sorted now.
The car seems to be much more responsive now.
Still having some other issues, a few times while driving the engine warning light and TCL light have both come on, I can't notice any difference in performance, any ideas what could be causing this? And a few times while trying to start the car, I will turn the key to the start position and I get nothing! Do it again and it starts, I have also noticed that some times the ignition barrel seems to get tight. I guess this is just a worn barrel, how easy is it to get a replacement with the correct key code?
Many thanks
Kevin
Oil in the plug holes means you need to change the rocker cover gaskets. Sounds like the rest is a good result!
The tcl and cel usually means that there is a vacuum pipe leak between the throttle body and the canister or solenoids on the bulkhead. Also try unplugging the solenoids and plugging them back in a couple of times. There shouldn't be a loss of power AFAIK, just the traction control will not kick in.
If you are still after an exhaust, www.camskill.co.uk sell a nice Blue Flame exhaust which is a specific fit for our cars. I had one on mine for a while and liked it, its the same diameter as original so you may want to consider whether you are likely to want to go 3" to support performance mods?
I'm not sure where in the UK you are (guessing an island with that registration) but @fassi1 on here is selling custom downpipes for a good price.
