I can get around 450km out of a full tank around town.. aint taken it long distance yet...

BUT I know for a fact that... I can get from porirua to over the rumitaka's to masterton and that's some nana driving right there for about 20 dollars in petrol. about 91 km one way.

day dreaming of 13b's , huge ports and suicide doors, and a few other things too I cant say here.

hi guys, just done a longish drive this weekend to napier from wellington via Manfield . I did 452.7km on almost a tank full (47.25l) , as the fuel light had just started to come on.

to my calcs this is about 9.58km/l or 10.4l per 100km (or 27.1mpg old school)

thought I might have got a few more km/l with a 5 speed manual and not speeding much - cruising about 104km/hr this weekend

Wow, this post took off haha.

I went Auckland to Whangarei this weekend return, was full tank when I left, had 1/4 left when I got back - 320kms, $80 of 98 Octane @ $2.26/L

As to km/l - Dunno lol

Def think I need to look at o2 sensor

    Random Q;
Boost gauge - Mechanical or elec better?

forgot to say that I'm running with mobil 95.

useage checked by refilling to same level ( when I see the fuel sitting just at nozzle depth, I stop) before and after travelling kms.

saying 1/4 tank left not accurate sorry, as gauge drops real quick after half tank

apparently mechanical have better response, unless you want features like memory, i dont see the need to electric, i assume mechanical are easier to install

Electronic gauges use less vacuum piping so theoretically less lag. And there's not the worry of a pipe coming into the cabin that can get damaged, pop off or leak.

Yikes something is definitely not right with your car. I was able to get to Taupo from BP Drury (about 290km) on 25ish litres of 98, and that's including boosting and two passengers with a sub box.

I just filled up and had done 320km to full tank - 400 is a stretch for me, so 300 on 1200km would be around what i would get

I find that when I top up with gas... I always work at 10km per litre of gas. yesterday put in some 22l of gas. I should make an easy 220km from that around town. more if I long distance it. but not that much more..

last time I did a long drive was owera to wellington..
tank and a third I think it was.. and that was with a hitch hiker from taupo. of and the hose from the bov came loose in aucks but I never noticed till someone pointed it out. not sure if that ever made a difference or not.

roll on may 2014 I wanna goto the dark side they have rwd and pizza's and lotsa V

Got me rethinking if I want another VR4 now!

My last legacy (2L B4 shape) got a consistent 600km plus from a full tank (50l to light on) on the open road - even my auto/turbo airtrek got better economy than what you guys are reporting :S

Once the cars are retuned they are fine, or if you're on the open road with gentle acceleration. I've gotten 560km to 50ish litres in a single trip round the Coromandel before with a full car load.

I desperately need my car tuned/retuned. Like I dont go anywhere besides work and getting less than 300kms a tank, so fulling up every 2nd week, pretty much pay day and boom $100-120 gone straight away just on fuel

Round town + heavy foot = petrol gone really quick.

Get a wideband and readjust the narrowband emulation slightly and you might find an improvement. Again, fresh plugs and filters will make a big difference, as will checking for and fixing boost leaks.
