Any ideas how to stop this from happening?

You need to strengthen the mount. Easily done with a thick plate

As you have upgraded your sway bar to a stiffer one, you need to upgrade the mount as well as the bar, as Peter has said you will need to weld on a thicker metal plate to mount the bar to.

I have heard of others breaking or bending the rear sway bar mounts but i believe only after they have upgraded the rear sway bar to a stiffer one.

    Bye for Now!

The upgrade of the mounts is a HAVE to do with the selby's. The Cusco's dont have the same problem.

Hop over to ozvr4 and have a look on there as most of them have already done this mod.

Doesn't it require cert if done in NZ?
