Bye for Now!
And equally some of the worst too
I have now got all the bits to do my own projector hid conversion over Christmas.
Just dropped my modded bumper and my FL spolier off at the paint shop. Hopefully get them back by New Year all shiny and ready to fit to the Silver Sieve. Pics to come in the next week or so
Since I had my VR4 brake lying around and doing nothing, Thought it be good brake upgrade for my ST-R to have my VR4 brakes and give them quick paint in black before they went on

Yesterday @Bender and I got his engine almost ready to be taken out, @97legnum came around too and got the speed sensor out for us, I reckon that was harder than the rest combined. I replaced my traction control solenoids which stopped the TCL light from coming on.
Today I flushed my oil and replaced it with Castrol Edge 5w30, my lifters are still noisy as hell. Also replaced a spark plug lead that was torn in two places and now the engine miss is pretty much gone.
Haha this how far me and @kiwigalant got yesterday

Took few more things off today

The first 40k or so was KM, then it was imported to this country and converted to miles. So since 40k it's been clocking up in miles.
I got it with 79500 on the clock... so I've done 80,500 miles in it since March 2009.
Since my last spark plug change about 6 weeks ago, god this time flying, I was fighting with slight misfires, it occurs straight after spark plug change just eve b4 last dyno day, hence not runs/tweaks, and it was a pain to properly diagnose as all plenum was off and at the same time I change injector seals so unplug few more things just to make diagnose even harder. I start from simple things like swapping over MAF, coils, IFS, the lot, nothing sort out the issue.
Last resort was to take plenum off and have a look but it was pointless without new set of HT cables so here we go, brand new set of NGK cables arrive from JP

with clear instructions at the back

this 130% clearly state power gains after fitting them, not doubt about it,
but there is most important bit, at least for me
20150108_160713.jpg
during the process, they FIT nicely and being the same dia as OE they lay much better than thick magnecores

All done and tested, misfire GONE!!! so much smother and pull stronger than ever. Very please with them so far, just to mention that car was almost perfect on petrol and misfiring badly on LPG and this give me idea how/where to listen on petrol but it was hard to feel, so it was on last legs and weak but very hard to notice IF driven on petrol only.
His FL Legnum VR4 running 238.8 ATW HP and 500Nm @1.05 bar on LPG

My recent and ex Mitsubishi's
so it was a dodgy lead that caused the issue.
that is good to find out the reason for the misfire.
it just shows that spark is very improtant for the LPG setup, so maybe coil on plug mod would be usfull for LPG.
i best get my finger out and do something. the weather has been horrible over the christmas period so not done much in the way of car stuff.
but i have made 2 pork, gamon and chicken pies with egg running through it. in a couple of loaf tins.
Heh, I didn't put my hids together yet bar all bits and pieces lay on the table in exact the same spot as last year!!! but manage to break my back by lay on sofa whole Christmas and try to pick a box just after.
yes cop is a good idea, I think I know denso nr which can fit, just need to order and try, or you can try one of your 20? typer ones :-)

i just can't seem to get me arse into gear and do the stuff i want to do.
i am having a day off on tuesday after going do to my parents over the weekend, so thought i would do a few bit on tuesday.
but tonight i get a call from my 17 year old niece, here corsa has just had a fail of the speedo, ABS light on, engine light on, PAS fail, running like a pig. so i am off to fix a corsa on tuesday and then do a full service (oil and filter, gear box oil, brake fluid, coolant) and front disk and pad change, and front drive shaft gater change.
At least i have a full vauxhall diagnostic software tool so i should be able to interigate the car and find the fault relatively quickly. might be an ABS sensor fail. i will find out on tuesday.
here is hoping it is dry on tuesday.
1.0L 3 cylinders 50HP i think, i thought i broke it when i test drove it, there was 4 people in the car and i flawed it in 4th at 40mph and nothing it didn't make it go faster at all, you really have to work those gears to get it to go anyware. but apart from being gutless it drove very well.
thinking about the issue with the ABS engine light, it might just be a grease build up on the ABS sensor from the split driveshaft gator. i hope so.
A little teaser of what I'm up to today. Firs two is in closed dark garage last one is with open door and good day light, they soooo bright.
