Could my bottom end of gone? Vid

I was going around a roundabout that has multiple lights on it. I was under load trying make the next set of lights and caught a pot hole. Bear in mind my fto is fwd. there was a loud knock which i thought was suspension but then this knock appeared. Only under gentle acceleration at about 3k. I limped her home and it's got slightly worse and less intermittenent. Doesn't do it on idle but starts at about 2.5 k now. Any advise is appreciated. It sounds like it's coming from the rear head side near the Center. Also I have solid gearbox mounts on. So there is no movement. Which might be why a big shock from the wheel could **** my engine I guess. Amy advise is massively appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look.

If it sounds good on idle and like a diesel I when revving to 3k then there is a good chance that the issue is the bottom end.

Sounds like bottom end. Will eventually throw it threw the block. Some times bottom end can sound a bit like heavy tappets you will prob find that from going round the bend all the oil is pushed to one side then the bump has thrown the oil up and a combination of the vibration and oil movement has been enough to throw a bearing.

Place a solid (not rubber handled) screwdriver on top of the plenums whilst the engine is idling, if you can hear a rattling sound resonating through the screwdriver then pretty safe bet that its the bottom end. (This is also a Mitsy mechanic method)

When mine went I also had the CEL come on under loads such acceleration off roundabout or up a hill. (Although i had the CEL configured to monitor knock) It seemed to develop all of a sudden but got progressively worse. I did manage to drive her for another 300 or so miles after that until I replaced the engine but it was completely off boost and extremely light accelration, kinda like how your gran would drive to the garden centre on a sunday

Thankyou guys. I will get my ear to a screwdriver today. I do this at work with pumps etc. I am going to pull the engine out. When I do what do I need to check? I'd love to have a go at a rebuild. I'm no mechanic I'm a gas engineer. But I have a good few mechanic freinds. None have experience with the engine though. Is rebuilding an option or is it better to replace?

Thanks daz. It's make or break time for the car now. I will fix or strip. But it looks like I'm pulling the engine out anyway.at least she had a good day at a show.

Strip it, forge it, get some custom billet cams, put back together and refit

Adam Findlay on here offers some nice work for 6a13tt's

Sounded ok on idle through the plenums but still can't pinpoint exactly where this noise it coming from. So I guess the block needs to come out. Any other ideas on what I should check?
